Olympic Coast Series, No. 18, Shi Shi Beach, Washington State Original Oil on Canvas,
Point of The Arches, Olympic National Park

"This painting is gorgeous and delicate. The  luscious palette is one of muted lilac, periwinkle and coral pinks with soft lavender-hued earthtones and hints of turquoise throughout. It captures a brilliant sunrise that blossomed over the Point of the Arches on August 17th, as the morning fog still hung over the ocean and the sea stacks. When I saw these colors appear I ran down the beach to capture them. I’m glad I did as within fifteen minutes, or so, a marine layer descended transforming the scene to shades of grey.”
