"This painting resulted from a 3-day, 20 mile, Olympic Peninsula backpacking trip during the heat dome in 2021. My best friend Lars had been wanting to make this hike for twenty years, and of course we did it during record setting heat. When we found this gorgeous overlook it felt like air conditioning blowing up from the ocean we cooked some trail food and unwittingly fell asleep on the bluff to the sound of the waves."
