Artist Statement:

This plein-air piece was a classic challenge for plein-air painting. I was attracted to the unusual color - a hull of yellow! The birds seemed just as attracted to it as I was. As I painted it, the breeze played with the boat - changing it's direction. I worked hard to keep up.
